Parents and Friends of Foston school - PAFFS
PAFFS
As Parents and Friends of Foston School (PAFFS) we aim to enhance the children’s experiences of school, whether this is by providing experiences the children may not necessarily have access to or to help purchase equipment and resources that would enable our children to develop even further. In practice this means meeting with school to discuss how to best do this and fund-raising in various ways. All parents and those connected with the school are welcome to assist and to attend our events, as well as regular committee meetings and our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Minutes of the AGM including an annual Chairs report and Treasurers report are available on request.
We recently created a PAFFS Events Team to support the PAFFS committee. This group of wonderful parent volunteers help out at our events whenever they can.
We welcome any fundraising ideas, as well as suggestions for things to enhance the children’s school experience. We are always pleased to welcome new volunteers to join the team.
Recently, funds have been raised through some of the following events.
- Monthly Tuckshops
- Refreshments at school plays and sharing assemblies
- Halloween ‘Colour Fun’ disco
- Christmas wreath and craft events
- Jumble sales & Bags2School collections
- Village trail, raffles
- Children’s Christmas decoration competition
- A Family Quiz night
What have our funds been used for?
- Computers ;
- Audio equipment including speakers & microphones;
- Nativity costumes, T-shirts for drama & singing at inter-school events, Leavers presents & hoodies;
- A special Christmas visitor & children’s presents;
- We have also been able to support school trips and the development of the school library.
Our current fundraising project is to help improve the outdoor space for year round learning and play.
We would like to thank everyone that supports PAFFS to enable the children of Foston school to gain an even greater school experience.
